Fesauai Sagale -Thompson Award

The Fesauai Sagale-Thompson Award is named in honor of our dear friend and Behind the Lavalava podcast team member, Uai, who passed away after his courageous fight with leukemia. Uai was all about service, strength, and heart—and we carry his legacy forward through this scholarship and grant.

This award is our way of continuing his legacy — by creating opportunities for veterans and their families. Whether it's education, starting a business, pursuing sports, or exploring the arts and culture, this award is here to help ease the financial burden and open new doors.

Applications will open mid-year for those who qualify. It’s more than just funding—it’s a tribute to Uai’s life and the impact he made on all of us.

Priority Considerations:
1. Spouses and children of veterans.
2. Veterans themselves.
3. Support members (parents, siblings, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces of veterans).
4. Organizations that support veterans.
